What is Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 Solution ‘Shibarium’? Complete Details Revealed

Shibarium Layer-2: What is Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 Solution ‘Shibarium’? About The Shiba Inu Coin Layer-2

The Shibarium Layer-2 project has gotten the greatest interest from the Shiba community of the SHIB initiatives already revealed.

Projects like SHIB: The Metaverse and the Shiba Inu game will add to an already wide network as the Shiba Inu ecosystem continues to flourish through its expansive SHIB roadmap. However, Shibarium will be used in a number of other upcoming projects.

Here's all we know about Shibarium thus far, as well as what it can provide the ShibArmy.

What Is Shibarium and How Does It Work?

Ryoshi, the founder of Shiba Inu Coin, offered Shibarium as a blockchain/layer-2 option. SHIB tokens will be moved to Shibarium whenever it debuts.

Shibarium is more likely to be an L2 that sits on top of an existing (Ethereum) blockchain since Ryoshi first used the term blockchain. "The border between an L2 and own blockchain is thin," the SHIB founder remarked. "I instance, what is the difference between Matic L2 and BSC?"

Lowering transaction prices for those in the Shiba ecosystem will be one of the key aims.

Shibarium's transaction costs will be small, if not nonexistent, according to Ryoshi. "Shibarium will offer affordable costs," Shytoshi Kusama, the Shiba Project Lead, declared on the Shiba Discord.

One of Ethereum's most significant challenges is its high gas prices. Shiba's dependency on the Ethereum network resulted in high gas costs when the Shiboshi NFTs were released.

Following the criticism of the Shiboshi release, Shytoshi even promoted Shibarium on Twitter.

Shibarium, like previous projects, will use some sort of SHIB burning mechanism to burn SHIB. It might also serve as a link between different ecosystems.

As additional information about Shibarium becomes available, we'll update this page.

Shibarium Release Date

Shibarium does not yet have an official release date, however, it might be released as early as mid-2022.

Shiba creator Kaal Dhairya announced on Twitter that it would soon advance to a beta phase after its development partner Unification stated Shibarium was in alpha and will soon undergo a public test.

Queenie, a Discord moderator, dampened release date expectations during the Shiba Inu AMA by stating that the project does not do them in order to prevent disappointing people. Shibarium, on the other hand, is expected to emerge in 2022, most likely in the first part of the year, according to her.

This corresponds to prior remarks on Shibarium's release date. Shibarium was stated as being in the mid-stage by Shytoshi in September 2021. In a March blog post, the Shiba team also announced that layer-2 will be released in 2022.

The third piece of information we have comes from developer Eric M, who claims that Shibarium will be released sooner than Ethereum 2.0, which is still scheduled for mid-to-late 2022.

Due to a large number of projects under process, such dates may change based on priorities and development progress. On January 20, Shytoshi remarked on Discord:

The game is progressing nicely. Shibarium. Shi. Everything is progressing. Juggling so much takes a lot of time.

Is Shibarium going to use SHIB?

While the SHIB and LEASH tokens have more use in ShibaSwap, they will not be the primary pair token for Shibarium. It'll be BONE instead.

"BONE will have a fair and '0' start," Ryoshi added, "in which we will not have to be concerned about over-arching whale sacks."

Of course, BONE was awarded to SHIB and LEASH owners when ShibaSwap initially began, so there are certainly a lot of BONE whales out there.

Despite Ryoshi's original concept for Shibarium featured BONE, when the December SHIB AMA re-confirmed BONE's involvement in Shibarium, several users were disappointed.
