Musk's cryptocurrency holdings, as well as his affinity for DOGE, are well-known at this point. Has Musk gone into the NFT industry, with interest in NFTs catching up to that of crypto, which generated $22 billion in sales this year?

Here's all you need to know about Elon Musk and non-financial tokens (NFTs).

Does Elon Musk Own Any NFTs?

Elon Musk has not publicly disclosed any NFTs he presently has, but that does not rule out the possibility that he is participating in them.

The Tesla CEO announced in March 2021 that he would sell a Techno song as an NFT, eliciting a tremendous community response and bids (serious or not) of up to $1 billion.

He, on the other hand, developed a case of shivers. The NFT idea was withdrawn by Musk, who stated that it "doesn't seem quite right selling this."

Apart from that, Musk is usually seen on Twitter making jokes about NFTs. Musk criticized NFTs with a meme on Twitter in mid-December, drawing criticism for referring to it as a mental disorder.

He then commented on Doge's CEO Billy Markus's tweet highlighting cryptocurrency frauds by referring to NFTs as "jpeging the dollar."

Elon Musk upped his trolling game earlier this week when he changed his Twitter profile image to a BAYC NFT collage. Musk, a vocal opponent of NFTs, has already shown his displeasure with NFTs by calling the Twitter NFT profile image change "annoying."

However, because it's tough to read the SpaceX CEO's views, we can't rule anything out just yet.

While Musk may dislike NFTs, they surely like him. On OpenSea, a fast search for 'Elon Musk' yields 392,824 results.

Musk may finally get into NFTs now that one Dogecoin developer has created an NFT on the DOGE network.

Elon Musk dismisses Web3 technology, referring to it as a marketing gimmick.
