Benelli TRK 702 details leaked, front and rear cameras confirmed
We have previously reported that Benelli was developing the TRK 702 as a model to bridge the space between the TRK 502 and the TRK 800. Now that we know that this next bike from Benelli will have front and rear cameras via leaked paperwork.
Benelli TRK 702: details
A 693cc engine from CFMoto, with a maximum power output of 75hp, will power this future bike from Benelli. This engine also powers the CFMoto 700CL-X, producing 70.7 horsepower and 61 pound-feet of torque. The TRK 702 will likely be available in two variations, as is typical with Benelli adventure bikes: a road-biased tourer and an off-road-focused model. The former had front and rear tires measuring 120/70 and 160/60 respectively, mounted on 17-inch cast-alloy wheels. The variant that is more geared toward off-road use has spoked rims with wheels measuring 110/80-19 up front and 150/70-17 at the back.
The camera system on this bike, though, is the main talking point. These cameras are probably designed to serve as dash cams, capturing footage that can help you escape a tricky situation in the event that you were to crash. The cameras are situated about where radars would be on large adventure motorcycles, like the Multistrada V4, for instance. The front camera is positioned directly over the license-plate light, while the rear camera is directly above the headlight.
The recently released Norton flagship sportbike, the V4SV, incorporates a rear camera, despite the fact that cameras on bikes are not particularly prevalent. Benelli has done this before as too; the 1200GT tourer offered in China features comparable technology.
The release of this bike is still a few years away, all things considered. If it does arrive on our soil, it will face competition from models like the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the Kawasaki Versys 650.
