On July 20, 2022, Maruti Suzuki will hold the domestic market's debut of the Grand Vitara. Several teasers for the midsize SUV have already been released, offering us a sneak peek at its exterior, interior, and amenities. Once it is released, it will take the position of the S-Cross as the company's flagship SUV.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is anticipated to be highly safe and would probably ride on the upgraded Global C platform. In the lineup, the Grand Vitara will slot above the Brezza small SUV, and the base model may cost as little as Rs. 9.35 lakh. The most expensive model might cost as much as Rs. 19.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Seating capacity and Exterior design:
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the five-seater might share a wheelbase, and the entire length of the vehicle will be close to 4.3 meters. In reality, the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder will share a lot of mechanical and engine components. Next month, the latter will be the first to go on sale, followed by the Grand Vitara.
The SUV will compete against models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Nissan Kicks. It will have notable advantages over most of its competitors since it will be offered a wide variety of mild-hybrid and powerful hybrid powertrains. The future SUV will also be available with a 4WD system.
Grand Vitara: Engine and specification
The Grand Vitara is anticipated to have somewhat lower starting costs than the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder K15C DualJet petrol engine seen in the redesigned Ertiga, XL6, and new Brezza will power the mild hybrid system. It will have a maximum power output of about 103 PS and a maximum torque of 136 Nm.
It will be connected to either a six-speed torque converter AT or a five-speed manual transmission with paddle shifters. It will have a specific EV-only mode thanks to the Toyota-sourced 1.5-liter four-cylinder TNGA Atkinson Cycle powerful hybrid powertrain, which also has a high fuel economy. An e-CVT will be mated with the powertrain.
