Mahindra has unveiled its much-expected lineup of electrified SUVs after a number of teases. The five future born-electric SUVs have been divided into two unique sub-brands: XUV.e and BE, based on Mahindra's innovative INGLO platform.

Five new Mahindra EVs are incoming

The newly created BE sub-brand will have three models under it: BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. The XUV.e sub-brand will have two models under it: XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. Although their particular outputs may vary, all five electric SUVs will be built on the same base and battery pack.

With its selection of ICE vehicles, Mahindra's XUV brand is already fairly well known, but for its electric version, the business is utilizing a different identity. The first models to go into production, beginning in 2024, will feature a new copper finish on the twin peak emblem on the XUV family of electric vehicles.

The BE line of EVs, which are scheduled to begin production in 2025, will, in contrast, have a noticeably different appearance thanks to C-shaped LED headlamp and tail light parts and sharply cut body surfaces. More information on the BE line of vehicles is available here.

The XUV.e8, scheduled to debut in December 2024, will be the first vehicle to enter production. This is essentially an electric version of Mahindra's XUV700, the company's current top-of-the-line SUV. Although the XUV.e8 is built on the INGLO platform, it has many conceptual similarities with the XUV700, including the same three rows of seats and fundamental design elements.

However, enough changes have been made to the design to distinguish it as an EV. Full-width LED light bars that retract into the bumper and a covered front grille give it a fresh appearance. A strongly curved bonnet, headlights situated on the bumper, and angular cuts are also seen on the face. However, the rear end resembles the XUV700 with an ICE engine quite a little.

The XUV.e8 measures 4,740mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,760mm in height, according to Mahindra. It will feature a 2,762 mm wheelbase. In comparison to the XUV700, the XUV.e8 will be 45mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm higher, although the wheelbase will only increase by 7mm.

Additionally, Mahindra has stated that it would include an all-wheel-drive system and a battery pack with an 80kWh capacity. Power outputs will vary from 230 horsepower to more than 350 horsepower.

The XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 are among the five e-SUVs; their introduction dates have not yet been determined. The XUV.e8 will be on sale in December 2024. Between 2024 and 2026, the first four are scheduled to be released, starting with the Indian market. قبل 4 ساعات

In April 2025, the second XUV.e9 model will be released. It's a brand-new car with a coupe-like shape rather than the electric version of any current model. The XUV.e9's measurements have been disclosed by Mahindra to be 4,790mm long, 1,905mm wide, and 1,690mm tall. The wheelbase of the XUV.e9 will be 2,775mm. The XUV.e9 will be a 5-seater vehicle as opposed to the XUV.e8.

Its appearance is influenced by the XUV Aero concept, and its LED lighting components, bumper-mounted headlamps, and closed-off front grille share certain characteristics with the XUV.e8. However, the coupe-like form at the back and the short, flat tail portion are what actually distinguish it. Also, It also wears prominent gloss-black cladding all around that’s not there on the XUV.e8. In terms of technical specifications, it will likely be similar to that of the XUV.e8.
