New Audi Q6 E-Tron Sportback Spied Testing Alongside Regular Model
The Q6 E-Tron crossover will expand Audi's line-up of electric vehicles. Two body types will be offered when it goes on sale, and a fresh series of spy photos show the Sportback model undergoing testing alongside the normal vehicle.
The crossover is hidden in the latest images, while spy images from March showed the Q6 with its front end uncovered, displaying the style. The crossover will have split headlights that sit atop an angular front bumper and lower grille opening and surround a sizable closed-off grille.
Audi has camouflaged almost the whole surface of this specimen, although certain parts are visible. The Q6's warning markers and narrow taillights may be seen. At the back, where the Sportback has a slanted, fastback-like roof style, the Sportback differs from the normal Q6. The design sticks out from other boxy crossover vehicles, but it will reduce the amount of storage space and back headroom.
Although spy photos from a good position gave us a partial view of the inside, they also revealed an odd-looking screen configuration that might not have been used in production. Audi introduced its E-Tron GT and Q4 E-Tron models with in-dash screens, but spy photos of the Q6 show a screen sticking out from the dash. In front of the driver's seat, there should be a digital instrument cluster.
Although specifics of the EV's powertrain are yet unknown, single- and dual-motor options should be available. Although the range and output are unknown, the top-tier RS performance model may produce up to 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts). The new Q6 and the future Porsche Macan EV will both use the PPE platform.
Although Audi hasn't announced a launch date, the new EV should appear no later than 2023. Nothing is official, but there have been whispers that it may emerge before the year is over. These are fluid things. When the new Q6 E-Tron goes on sale, it will replace the Q4 E-Tron in the Audi portfolio.
