Exclusive: Mahindra Alturas 4X2 High Variant Launch Soon, 4×4 Discontinued

High-end equipment like nine airbags, a sunroof, a 360-degree video system, etc. is included in the Mahindra Alturas 4X2.

In order to compete with vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra & Mahindra released the Alturas G4 in late 2018 on the local market. Despite being a well-rounded full-size SUV, the rebadged SsangYong Rexton G4 is not a huge success for the domestic SUV manufacturer. Priced at Rs. 31.88 lakh in a fully equipped 4WD model, the Alturas G4 is available (ex-showroom).

We can disclose that the 44 variations has been withdrawn in an exclusive report. Does that imply, however, that the Alturas G4 won't be sold any longer? Do not be alarmed; Mahindra will soon introduce the 7-seater's 4X2 model to the Indian market. and it could carry an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 30.67 lakh – around Rs. 1.21 lakh less expensive than the 4×4.

The previous 4X2 model cost Rs. 28,84 lakh (ex-showroom). The 42 model, which was previously only offered in its cheapest form, will now include features seen in the now-discontinued 44 top-spec trim, including a sunroof, a 360-degree video system, and nine airbags.

The Scorpio N and XUV700, two recent debuts from Mahindra, have been selling like hotcakes, and the company plans to expand its lineup of SUVs in the near future. The Thar's five-door variant is anticipated to make its premiere at the 2023 Auto Expo in January before launching on sale to take on the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which will also have five doors.

The 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that powers the Mahindra Alturas G4 is capable of producing a maximum power output of 178 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 420 Nm of peak torque generated between 1,600 rpm and 2,600 rpm. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is imported into the nation via the CKD method. Only a Mercedes-Benz seven-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is used to connect the engine.

18-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, a seven-inch colored TFT instrument cluster, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, adjustable headrests, a steering wheel with mounted controls, and many other features are included in the Mahindra Alturas G4's feature list.
